Turmeric
Turmeric is a spice that dates back thousands of years. It gives curry that wonderful yellow color and has been in use in India as a medicinal herb for a really long time. Turmeric contains an active ingredient called Curcumin, which has anti-inflammatory effects and is also a strong antioxidant. That’s important because some low-level inflammations that last a long time can lead to heart disease, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease. Fighting inflammation in the body is always in your best interest. That same ingredient may also boost a chemical in the brain that plays a role in memory and learning. Curcumin may also contribute to the death of cancerous cells and reduce the spread of cancer.
